Ben Retreat – Benedictine Retreat Centre, Makkiyad, Wayanad

The Benedictine Retreat Centre is a sanctuary for spiritual renewal nestled in the tranquil hills of Makkiyad, Wayanad, Kerala in India. It is run by the monks of St. Joseph’s Benedictine Monastery who draw inspiration from the revered Saints Benedict, Sylvester and Scholastica. Here the faithful embark on an indepth spiritual journey, rooted in Christ and the Gospel message, embodying new faith, hope and love. The Holy Spirit has anointed and chosen this Retreat Centre with deliverance and healing ministry and Eucharistic miracles. One of the main ministries of this Centre is deliverance ministry which is done by the director named Rev. Fr Joy Chembakassery OSB and other priests here.

“Peace of Risen Christ to all who visit this Website. Hallelujah!!”

Christ is still living in our midst through various Media. The Website is created to learn more about our retreat ministries and other Spiritual activities arranged according to God’s plan. Our retreat center is inspired by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Rule of St.Benedict. The Gospel of Jesus Christ entails us to proclaim the Good News to all the Mankind and here at our retreat center we proclaim this Good News of the Gospel in the format of Retreats and other spiritual services. Every month, several hundred people from all walks of Life attend the Retreats at this center.

Deliverance, Healing, Transformations of their life, and Encountering of Christ occur during these retreats Our main message to all the attendees is the Hope of Christ which is available to all the individuals who believe in the Salvation of their souls by Christ. The first Letter of Paul to Timothy says, For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all.

Grotto

“ For nothing is impossible with God ” ( Luke 1:37 ) . The Living and walking presence of our Mother Mary is experienced everywhere in this Centre especially in Our Lady’s Grotto. One of the intercessory groups prays the day with Mother Mary, reciting the holy rosary for various intentions. The various apparitions, miraculous healings, deliverance and live experiences are the powerful testimony of the Centre and the Holy Water from the well spring in Our Lady’s Grotto.
Benedictine Cross and Medal

“ Crux Sacra Sit Mihi Lux ” . Let the Holy Cross be my light. We lay down all our trails and sufferings at the foot of the Cross. The miraculous Benedictine Cross is erected at the entrance of this Centre, is the specialty of Benedictine Retreat Centre. It is a great protection and shield for our Centre and each one of us. Those who pray near the Benedictine Cross are experienced healing and deliverance. The miraculous Benedictine Medals are used by many people today.
Holy Water

“ I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses and from all your idols I will cleanse you ” ( Ezekiel 36:25 ) . Through uttering the powerful prayers and blessing on simple water by the anointed hands of our director and other priests reveal healing and deliverance power while using holy water, especially applying the areas of affliction, sickness and bonded areas of life, land, house, animals and all the inanimate objects.
Spiritual Sharing (Counseling)

“ To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good ” ( 1 Cor. 12:7 ) . The gifts and graces of the Holy Spirit are for renewal of the faithful. Our Centre is blessed abundantly with spiritual counselors with their God given gifts and graces. Our Centre renders spiritual counseling on the second Saturday Convention, during Retreat and other Conventions which enhance the people of God.
